Bricknaught Graveyard

Everyone is welcome to post bricknaught photos here, as examples of what NOT to build. I'll be using this space to post ships we've classed as bricknaughts, including relevant chat exchanges.

Rants, cries, whines, etc. will all be deleted from this thread. Repeated attempts to rant/cry/whine will result in forum & server permaban.

Ship Impounded 06MAY2016

Criteria: fugly, lagging multiple pilots at spawn, no apparent consideration given to game mechanic's intended purposes. High speed flight causes whole-server lag. Therefore violates established rules.

Code: [Select]
2016/05/07 - 01:49:06 [ErthParadine]: WTF is that MLG?
2016/05/07 - 01:50:23 [ErthParadine]: I see what appears to be a bricknaught, MLG
2016/05/07 - 01:52:02 [ErthParadine]: It has been impounded, until MLG is willing to chat :-)
2016/05/07 - 01:53:41 [ErthParadine]: It's pretty bad - just stuff clummped into huge blocks. Laggy as well.
2016/05/07 - 01:57:24 [MLG]: it wont let me out of this sector!!!
2016/05/07 - 01:57:40 [MLG]: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

2016/05/07 - 02:01:18 [ErthParadine]: Alright - since you're not going to use PMs MLG. No, please dissemble your ship, and review our rules regarding bricknaughts before assemgling another.
2016/05/07 - 02:01:45 [MLG]: whats a bricknought
2016/05/07 - 02:01:54 [ErthParadine]: Please see rules

2016/05/07 - 02:02:29 [MLG]: oh so are you saying my ship is ugly
2016/05/07 - 02:02:51 [ErthParadine]: Well, it is ugly, but that's not our definition of a bricknaught. Please see rules for specifics.

I've captured his ship and fed it to my shipyard.

Nom nom nom.

Hope I didn't give my shipyard cancer though.

Appears designed to lag-out the entire server by undocking an internal entity when the ship is poked...thereby trapping an undocked entity inside the ship hull. Power reactors are just large bricks, no apparent consideration given to module placement. Had a neat looking but very thin hull/armor layer, but very little consideration was given to the engineering requirements of such a large entity.

This ship was such an incredible #fail, it allowed me enough time/resources to refine our anti-griefing scripts, and significantly reduce the negative effects of such a poor design. As a result, this one wins StarBits' very first #EpicFailWhale prize: no deletion, just a naked honorless death.

Overall Rating: thin-hulled poorly engineered bricknaught

Finally got around to looking at the "bomb" blueprint uploaded and spawned by Doughnut (using Pianoknight's account). The idea of spending so much time and energy to design an build something like this is actually really sad...but thought we all deserved at least a few screenshots: it doesn't exactly meet the definition of a bricknaught, but it most certainly satisfies the definition of a lag-inducing entity, and therefore it fulfills the spirit of a bricknaught definition.

I think we need a new term to describe any bricknaught, or whole-server lag inducing entity: doughnaught.

Saddest part is... As I already understood how it could cause server lag... more I look at his bomb design, the more I realize I could've done it better the first time without seeing someone else's bomb design.

She literally came to my mind.

Vaygr has a giant brick ship lol obviously they did not read the rules. That and it has an ungodly amount of docked entities it actually lagged me out just by showing up, I thought our server was done with the massive bricks?

I SEE SO MANY BRICKS HERE! But really, with all due respects, can you please actually attempt to fight instead? Thanks.

I don't see any bricks in that video.

Honestly - I think its unfortunate that aceface chooses to hide behind impersonations and exploits, a true shame really. He conveys a lot of cinematic talent, and has an apparent knack for design; his positive elements will be missed. His abusive behaviors cannot be tolerated though, and will most certainly not be missed.
